Welcome to Donore Village

Donore is situated in the picturesque Boyne Valley just off the M1 Motorway (Junction 9) at Drogheda with the Newgrange Passage Graves and The Battle of the Boyne site and interpretive centre at Old Bridge House nearby.

The Parish of Donore consists of the two old adjoining communities of Donore and Rosnaree, both with church buildings dating from 17th century. The Parish hall at Donore housed the National School until 1959 when the present school was built. Today, it is used by the community for meetings, classes, fund raisers ect. and is currently being refurbished by the Donore and Rosnaree Community Group.

Donore is a favourite stopping off point for visitors to the historical Boyne Valley, Newgrange, Battle of the Boyne site at Old Bridge House, Hill of Slane and many other ancient sites and attractions. In the centre of the Village we have a modern shopping area with a supermarket, pharmacy, ladies hairdresser, take away and pub and restaurant facilities.

Amenities in the surrounding area include an Open Farm, B&B & Hotel Accommodation, Football Clubs and diverse businesses from Florists to Monumental works.

Come visit and enjoy our village. We are sure to have what you are looking for...
